Abstract

The development of business activities through generative AI is becoming increasingly popular due to its efficiency and effectiveness. Nevertheless, there is much uncertainty regarding the use of AI-based tools in producing quality business plans as compared to human-generated ones. The purpose of this research is to explore entrepreneurs’ perception of AI-based business plans compared to human-generated business plans along five criteria – quality, usefulness, credibility, creativity, and feasibility. Quantitative survey comparing human- and AI-generated business plans has been used. Two hundred and fifty entrepreneurs, owners of small businesses, startups, business consultants, and business students participated in the experiment by evaluating both types of business plans according to a questionnaire with items assessed from one to five points. Descriptive statistics, reliability, correlations and paired sample t-tests have been performed by using SPSS. It has been found that AI-generated business plans were not as credible, creative, and feasible as human-developed ones. However, respondents believed them to be very useful and efficient. It appears that despite the increasing influence of generative AI on the development of new businesses, human involvement remains important. The findings are discussed in the context of AI adoption in entrepreneurship. The results show that AI serves most effectively as a supportive tool rather than a replacement for human judgment in business planning processes.
