Ethical Principles and Publication Policy
Research and Publication Ethics
The , published by Jagua Publication, is committed to maintaining the highest standards of research integrity and publication ethics. The journal follows internationally recognized ethical standards, primarily based on:
• International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE)
• Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE)
Supporting guidelines include principles from • World Association of Medical Editors (WAME) • Council of Science Editors (CSE) • European Association of Science Editors (EASE) • World Medical Association (WMA) • National Library of Medicine (NLM).
All authors, reviewers, editors, and publishers are expected to comply with these ethical frameworks.
Ethical Approval
All studies involving human or animal subjects must comply with internationally accepted ethical principles.
Human StudiesMust follow the Declaration of Helsinki
Approval from a recognized ethics committee is mandatory
Approval number, committee name, and date must be provided
Must comply with institutional and national animal care regulations
Approval from an Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) is required
Ethics approval or exemption must be documented
Justification must be provided if informed consent was not obtained
Ethics Statement in Manuscripts
For all human or animal studies, authors must include the following statement:
“This study was approved by the [Name of Ethics Committee], Approval Number: [XXX], Date: [DD/MM/YYYY].”
If exemption applies, authors must clearly state the approving authority and justification.
Clinical Trials Policy
All clinical trials must be registered in a publicly accessible registry (e.g., ClinicalTrials.gov or WHO Primary Registries) prior to patient enrollment.
The trial registration number must be included in the manuscript.
The journal recommends adherence to CONSORT reporting guidelines for clinical trials.
Informed Consent
• Written informed consent is required for case reports and clinical images
• For minors or incapacitated individuals, consent must be obtained from legal guardians
• Manuscripts must state whether informed consent was obtained
• The journal may request supporting documentation
For studies involving human organs or tissues, authors must confirm compliance with the WHO Guiding Principles on Human Cell, Tissue, and Organ Transplantation. Manuscripts must clearly state that organs or tissues were not obtained from executed prisoners or prisoners of conscience.
Authorship
All authors must meet the authorship criteria defined by the ICMJE. Authors must have made substantial contributions to:
1. The conception and design of the study, data acquisition, or analysis and interpretation of data.
2. Drafting the manuscript or revising it critically for important intellectual content.
3. Final approval of the version to be submitted.
All authors are accountable for the integrity and accuracy of the work. Guest, ghost, or gift authorship is strictly prohibited.
Changes to Authorship
Changes to authorship (addition, deletion, or rearrangement of authors) will only be considered before manuscript acceptance. Requests must:
• Be submitted by the corresponding author,
• Include a written explanation for the change, and
• Include written confirmation from all listed authors.
Changes after acceptance will be considered only in exceptional circumstances and may require publication of a corrigendum.
Conflict of Interest
All authors must disclose any financial or personal relationships that could influence their work, including but not limited to:
• Employment
• Consultancies
• Stock ownership
• Honoraria
• Paid expert testimony
• Patent applications
• Grants or other funding
Authors with no competing interests must state:
“The authors declare no competing interests.”
Funding Sources
All sources of financial support must be clearly disclosed. Authors must describe the role of the funding body, if any, in:
• Study design
• Data collection and analysis
• Manuscript preparation
• Decision to publish
If no funding was received, authors must state:
“This research did not receive any specific grant from funding agencies in the public, commercial, or not-for-profit sectors.”
Sex and Gender Reporting (SAGER Guidelines)
The Journal supports transparent reporting of sex- and gender-based analyses.
• SGBA should be incorporated into the research design where applicable.
• Sex and/or gender dimensions must be addressed in the manuscript or clearly identified as a limitation.
• Definitions of sex and gender must be explicitly stated.
Definitions:
• Sex refers to biological attributes.
• Gender refers to socially constructed roles, behaviors, and identities.
Jurisdictional Claims
The journal maintains a neutral position regarding territorial or jurisdictional claims.
Maps must include a disclaimer stating that boundaries do not imply political recognition.
Submission Declaration
By submitting a manuscript to the , authors confirm that:
• The work has not been previously published (except as a preprint, conference abstract, or thesis).
• The manuscript is not under consideration elsewhere.
• All authors and responsible institutional authorities have approved submission.
• If accepted, the article will not be published elsewhere without written permission from the Journal.
Manuscripts may be screened using plagiarism detection and other verification tools to ensure compliance.
Ethical Misconduct
The Editorial Board evaluates all submissions for ethical compliance prior to peer review. Manuscripts failing to meet ethical standards will be rejected.
Suspected cases of:
• Data fabrication or falsification
• Unethical authorship practices
• Falsified ethics approvals
• Manipulated or fabricated peer review;
will be investigated in accordance with COPE guidelines. If misconduct is confirmed, the manuscript will be rejected or retracted, and the authors’ affiliated institutions may be notified.
