Abstract

We appreciated to read the article by Balsak et al. on a cross-sectional observational study on the dynamics of workplace violence (WPV) among 390 healthcare workers (HCW) in a single tertiary hospital in Turkye [1]. It was found that exposure to WPV predicted job engagement and that skills in managing WPV increased job engagement [1]. Job engagement in younger less experienced HCWs was low [1]. It was concluded that WPV is common and reduces job engagement [1]. The study is remarkable but several points require discussion.
